Melissa Sariffodeen

Melissa is a Lecturer in the Leveraging Information Technology Area Group.  Melissa’s professional and academic life focuses on helping people and organizations leverage the power of technology.  

Prior to teaching at Ivey, Melissa spent many years in the private sector as a co-founder or early-stage employee in several high-growth companies.  Most recently as the Co-Founder and CEO of Canada Learning Code, she built one of the country's leading education organizations helping people to learn future-proof technical skills. As an advocate and thought leader on the future of education and work, she’s had the opportunity to represent Canada as a delegate for the G7's Innovation 7, advise as a council member for the federal government’s Economic Strategy Table for Digital Industries and Future Skills Council.

Melissa is a graduate from Ivey’s HBA program and she has Master’s in Education from University of Toronto where she is also a current PhD student. Melissa has been featured in media outlets like CTV, CBC, and the Globe & Mail and her leadership has been recognized through the Governor General Award in Commemoration of the Persons Case, RBC Entrepreneur of the Year, WXN Top 100 and Canada’s Top 40 Under 40.
